Do I need an FR44 Filing?

Have you recently been charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence, or operating a vehicle while intoxicated?

In Virginia and Florida, in many cases, people whose license is under suspension for a DUI / DWI / OVWI by the in the states of Virginia and Florida need an FR44 filed to reinstate a driver license. In some rate cases, people with active licenses need an FR44 to be filed to keep their licenses active, but generally, it is to release it from a suspension.

The term DMV Depends on your Location

Remember the term “DMV” is someone generic, as different states have different entities that handle driver licensing and registration.

While in Virginia, the state does use the term Department of Motor Vehicles, in Florida, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is where the FR44 or SR22 is filed.
